Will marble countertops stain?

Yes — marble is porous and acidic foods (lemon, wine, vinegar, tomato) will etch the surface, leaving a dull spot in the polish. This is a feature, not a bug, for many marble customers — it patinas like a leather couch. If you want stain-proof, choose quartz instead.

How is marble different from quartz?

Marble is genuine natural stone with veining you can't fake. Quartz is engineered — 90% ground quartz + 10% resin — and many quartz patterns now imitate marble. The look is similar; the personality is different. Real marble develops character over time, quartz stays uniform.

Should I put marble in my kitchen or just a bathroom?

Kitchens get more abuse — daily acidic spills, hot pans, knives. Bathrooms are gentler. If you love marble and want it in the kitchen, go in eyes-open: it'll patina. If you want a more forgiving surface, marble in the master bath and quartz in the kitchen is a popular split.
